550 babies are born every month in Clark and Cowlitz Counties. About 35 of them need our help.  Their mothers are often single, without support, abused and/or homeless. A dad may be out of work.  A baby may have special medical needs. Hospital birth center social workers & community case workers in Clark and Cowlitz Counties identify families that need a helping hand and we provide essentials for the first few months of a newborn's life. Your generosity helps bring concrete help, hope and joy.  

New Car Seats ~ These keep little ones safe in cars, on buses and wherever they travel. 3577 given since 1999.

Layettes ~ Large layette gift packs contain clothing, bedding, diapers, a book, cuddly toy, and lovely extras. Our diaper bank flyer is tucked in for their future needs, and an extensive list of free local resources helps them take the next steps to provide for their children.  This promotes the safety and well-being of the babies and their families. 6851 given since 1999.

Sibling Bags ~ Colorful gift bags contain books, toys, cuddly animals, and an activity book that promotes bonding with "their" new baby.  Young siblings learn that they are important, too. 978 given since 1999.

Diaper Bank ~ We provide diapers to needy children of all ages.  They are referred by local social workers, caseworkers, and word of mouth. Parents spend an average of $70 a month on diapers for one child, often going without basics in order to keep their baby clean and dry. Without diapers, children cannot attend daycare and parents miss days of work. Since 2022, we have received 3,778 family visits for 5,431 children and provided 321,351 diapers with your help.

Homeless Families & Refugees ~ Families and widows often arrive with just the clothes on their backs and children in tow. We provide convertible car seats, booster seats, diapers, and wipes to these new neighbors. Since 2022 you've helped give 91 car seats and 58 booster seats.

Babies in Need is all-volunteer. ~ Serving with the help of many good people in our community, we have provided 3597 new car seats, 6851 layettes and 978 sibling bags since 1999.  Our diaper bank has filled 2004 requests for diapers since 2022.

    • Receiving blankets, soft toys, board books and accessories.

    • Size 5 and 6 diapers.
