Friends of Trees inspires people to improve the world around them through a simple solution: Planting trees. Together.

Every year, thousands of volunteers come together to plant trees at Friends of Trees events. Together, we’ve planted more than 1 million trees and native plants since 1989. Since expanding into Southwest Washington in 2003, the Vancouver region has become one of our most robust planting areas, with so many dedicated volunteers and enthusiastic treecipients.

We've grown to having FIVE Vancouver planting events every planting season (October-April). You can support these efforts by volunteering! It feels good to get outside, meet new people, and work together to make your neighborhood a greener place, full of trees and native plants that fight climate change, cool our homes, clean our air and water, and so much more. You can also sign up to receive a tree of your very own! We plant trees at neighborhood planting events organized to connect neighbors and build community. Each tree is planted by volunteers under the direction of trained crew leaders. Thanks to the City of Vancouver and other community support, we are able to offer trees for just $35, planting included. Visit friendsoftrees.org/get-a-tree to sign up!
