April's Reprise Choir GiveMore24 page

Reprise Choir was founded in 2016 by April Duvic and Janet Reiter Galbraith to fill a choral music void in Vancouver.  Now in season ten, we continue to live our vision and mission: "The mission of Reprise Choir is to present our singers, audience, and community with a wide variety of choral music at the highest artistic level and to collaborate with student musicians, encouraging them to pursue music throughout their lifetime."  A mid-sized choir with a balance of soprano, alto, tenor, and bass voices, money raised for Reprise Choir supports the organization by purchasing music, hiring local instrumental collaborative artists, donating to our local host church for rehearsal and performance space, piano tuning for concerts, buying insurance to cover rehearsals and performances, and donating funds to the local school(s) who are invited to sing with us on our concerts. The directors and board all volunteer their time and talents to the choir.  Choral music students from Vancouver, LaCenter, and Camas schools have all benefited educationally and financially from performing with Reprise Choir.  Thank you in advance for your support to continue our commitment to demonstrating the intrinsic and extrinsic value in lifelong singing and building a community of choral music together. 

Because of donations given during the September 2025 GiveMore24 event, we were able to collaborate with students from six middle school choirs in the Vancouver School District in March of 2026. The students rehearsed and performed with us, giving them the opportunity to see what choral opportunities are available in adulthood. Sometimes, it’s the smallest gesture that nets the greatest outcome, demonstrating that singing choral music exists from “K to Gray”, so to speak. Students experienced singing in a multigenerational choir, performing as peers with the adults in Reprise Choir. Each of the participating middle school choirs received money from Reprise Choir to help support their students’ continued success.

In March 2027, Reprise Choir will partner with the Henrietta Lacks High School (HeLa) choir in the Evergreen School District. Students passionate about exploring health and bioscience prepare for careers in Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Public Health, Nursing/Patient services and Pharmacy, AND a large percentage of the students also participate in the school’s music department. This aligns with statistical reports showing that 60-70% of medical professionals, especially physicians, have had musical training, with many continuing to perform as well as practice medicine.
