Right now, limited access to borrowed facilities allows Ohana to offer only one course per month, alternating among our programs. Women must wait for the course they need, some cannot attend the limited times available, and graduates have few opportunities to continue practicing. It takes a five-person volunteer team three hours to transport, set up, break down, and store heavy training equipment for every 90-minute class.
The Ohana Forever Home would change that.
A dedicated training center would allow us to offer several complete courses and ongoing conditioning classes every month. Women could prepare before violence occurs, survivors could rebuild confidence after it, and participants could practice until life-saving knowledge becomes lasting muscle memory. We could expand free youth violence-prevention programs and create a consistent place where women and girls can train, connect, heal, and grow stronger together.
This Give More 24!, help us raise the first $10,000 toward the estimated $250,000–$400,000 needed to secure the Ohana Forever Home.
This is more than a building. It is the difference between learning a life-saving skill once and having the opportunity to practice it until it is there when seconds count. It is a community working proactively to prevent violence, responding compassionately after violence occurs, and preparing women and girls to build a safer future for themselves and generations to come.
We’re asking for all hands in.
The word “ohana” means family. Family means nobody gets left behind.
