Double your Dollars ~ Double the Blessings

for our babies up to $10,000 thanks to a generous matching grant from a long-time supporter.

Over 550 babies are born every month in Clark and Cowlitz Counties. About 35 of them need our help.  Their mothers are often single, without support, abused and/or homeless. A dad may be out of work.  A baby may have special medical needs. Hospital birth center social workers & community case workers in Clark and Cowlitz Counties identify families that need a helping hand and we provide essentials for the first few months of a newborn's life. Your generosity helps bring concrete help, hope and joy.  

New Car Seats ~ These keep little ones safe in cars, on buses and wherever they travel. 3800+ given since 1999.

Layettes ~ Large layette gift packs contain clothing, bedding, diapers, a book, cuddly toy, and lovely extras. Our diaper bank flyer is tucked in for their future needs, and an extensive list of free local resources helps them take the next steps to provide for their children.  This promotes the safety and well-being of the babies and their families. 7000+ given since 1999.

Sibling Bags ~ Colorful gift bags contain books, toys, cuddly animals, and an activity book that promotes bonding with "their" new baby.  Young siblings learn that they are important, too. 1000+ given since 1999.

Diaper Bank ~ We provide diapers to needy children of all ages.  They are referred by local social workers, caseworkers, and word of mouth. Parents spend an average of $70 a month on diapers for one child, often going without basics in order to keep their baby clean and dry. Without diapers, children cannot attend daycare and parents miss days of work. We have engaged with 780 families to provide 430,000 Diapers since 2022.

Refugees ~ Families and widows often arrive with just the clothes on their backs and children in tow. We provide infant car seats, convertible car seats, and booster seats to them, working with Lutheran Family Services NW. We also give them layettes when needed and welcome them to our Diaper Bank. Since 2022 you've helped give 90+ car seats and 60+ booster seats.

Babies in Need is all-volunteer. ~ e Good-hearted people from all over the community donate layette items and cash for car seats and diapers. Others enjoy working together to sort donations, assemble layettes, and staff our diaper bank.
