Columbia Play Project

Columbia Play Project (CPP) is building Southwest Washington's first children's museum while bringing the museum experience directly to families today through our Mobile Children's Museum. Our vision is a permanent children's museum where children and caregivers can explore, create, discover, and connect through hands-on STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art, and Math) experiences that spark curiosity and a lifelong love of learning.

As we develop plans for the permanent children's museum, CPP delivers free and low-cost exploratory play experiences throughout Clark County, prioritizing neighborhoods and community partners that increase access for families who may face barriers to traditional cultural and educational opportunities. Our Mobile Children's Museum visits schools, parks, community events, and nonprofit partners, ensuring joyful, high-quality play reaches children where they already are.

Play is essential to healthy childhood development. Through open-ended, hands-on experiences, children build creativity, confidence, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and meaningful connections with the adults and peers around them.

Clark County is part of a 175-mile children's museum desert stretching from Olympia, Washington, to Salem, Oregon. CPP was founded to change that. Since 2020, we have served thousands of children through mobile programming while laying the groundwork for a permanent children's museum that will become a lasting community resource for generations.
