Celebrate Pride. Support community. Build inclusion in SW Washington.
At Evoke Cascadia, our mission is simple but powerful: to elevate underrepresented communities through engagement, awareness, and intersectionality. In Southwest Washington — especially in rural areas — safe, inclusive spaces are too rare. That’s why we’re building them.
We are a completely volunteer-run organization, powered by community members who believe in creating spaces where everyone belongs.
This fall, we’re launching twice-monthly peer meetups in Battle Ground for LGBTQ+ folks and allies (18+). Each gathering will include two parts:
Informational: Local service providers and nonprofits will share resources on topics like housing, health, employment, and mental wellness.
Connection: A welcoming space to relax, chat, craft, or simply be yourself among peers and allies.
Something as simple as a room, snacks, and access to community resources can make a huge difference in the lives of queer folks who often feel isolated in semi-rural areas.
Clothing Closet (building toward pop-ups):
Our Clothing Closet at Battle Ground Pride was an overwhelming success. We’re raising funds now to build capacity for future pop-up versions so people, especially gender-expansive folks, can try on and choose clothes in a joyful, judgment-free space. Capacity funding covers nuts-and-bolts needs like storage, bins/racks, and sorting.
But meetups are just the beginning. Evoke Cascadia also organizes Battle Ground Pride, ensuring our rural community has a free and welcoming Pride celebration every summer. Behind the scenes, we cover the essential costs that keep everything running — insurance, space, supplies, and the operations that allow our volunteers and programs to thrive.
Here’s what your gift makes possible:
$25 provides things like snacks and drinks for one night of peer meetups
$50 covers things like supplies for a craft or activity night
$75 helps with things like about half a month of storage for the Clothing Closet
$100 supports things like a full month of peer meetups
Every donation sustains Pride and supports Evoke Cascadia’s year-round programs
Our goal is to raise $2,500 during Give More 24 — enough to launch our peer meetups, build capacity for our Clothing Closet pop-ups, and sustain our community programming into the year ahead. With your help, we’ll show that even in small towns, LGBTQ+ people and allies can thrive, connect, and celebrate together.
