We work tirelessly to bolster the capacity of the Fort Vancouver Regional Libraries, allowing them to better serve the diverse needs of our communities. By supporting initiatives and projects beyond the reach of traditional library funding, we help to ensure that the libraries remain dynamic, innovative, and profoundly relevant in today's fast-paced, digital world. WHAT WE FUND

Building Libraries

When a library outgrows its walls, an entire community outgrows its access to opportunity. That's why the Foundation leads capital campaigns that transform libraries into spaces worthy of what they make possible — for today's neighbors and generations to come. Our current campaign is transforming downtown Washougal: growing a 2,300-square-foot library into a 14,000-square-foot hub built for how people actually use it — gathering, learning, creating, and connecting. Programs

Your support brings neighbors together around a shared love for reading — sparking curiosity, connection, and conversation that carries far beyond the last page. We help fund library programs like Summer at Your Library, Reading in Action, and Community Reads. 

Collections

With your support, we fund libraries’ acquisition of books, digital books and related resources, and the new Library of Things. 

Advocacy 

The Foundation leads the “vote yes” advocacy campaigns to secure public funding for the libraries. Most recently, the Foundation and Friends of the Library groups helped a property-tax levy lid lift pass in summer 2025. Your support strengthens our staff and volunteers, and ensures we have the resources to be ready for the next ballot — and the next win.
