Each week the Healthy Equitable Living Project and the HELP Food Pantry provide free, fresh, nutritious, and equitable food resources for Vancouver School District area students and families. Food security and healthy nutrition are essential to support a child's ability to focus and learn.

Each Saturday participants visit our shopping-style pantry to fill their carts with enough food for their family for the entire week. In addition to pantry staples, the program strives to offer a weekly selection of fresh produce, frozen meats, plus dairy and culturally relevant foods.

Founded in 2012, stalwart volunteers ran the pantry for over a decade through 2023. In Spring 2023 we hired our first Food Pantry Manager. With one employee and a remarkable, dedicated volunteer staff, we strive to Change Lives One Meal at a Time.

In May 2026, the Healthy Equitable Living Project became an independent, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The nonprofit status extends our network of partners  while also allowing the program and its participants to explore and expand into other equitable projects.
