PROVIDENCE ACADEMY:

IT'S ALL IN THE DETAILS

Your gift to The Historic Trust will preserve Providence Academy for generations to come.

One of our region’s most iconic landmarks, Providence Academy is more than a building. It’s a direct connection to the people who came before us.

Mother Joseph of the Sacred Heart and the Sisters of Providence built the Academy to serve our community—and their work resulted in the foundations of social services, education, and health care in the Northwest . Today, the Academy is a vibrant, bustling place of business and cultural activity.

Clients visiting offices. Couples tying the knot. Concertgoers filling the chapel for live music.

Why here?

It just feels different.

A thousand little details that culminate in an experience no other building can offer.

A feeling that you belong here, just like the people who walked these halls more than a century ago. The sense of openness you experience in spaces with soaring ceilings, hand-carved woodwork, and finishes with attention to detail that we just don’t see anymore. All of these combine to create vitality that welcomes, inspires, and energizes.

Our community has protected and preserved this important building and its stories for more than 150 years. We need your investment now to ensure that Providence Academy can serve 150 more.

Since the Trust acquired the Academy in 2015, an immense amount of love, care, and community investment has gone into stabilizing and restoring this regional treasure. Recently, a transformational gift coupled with support from our generous partners and donors helped us restore and refresh the entrance portico, and transform the landscape into the Sacred Heart Plaza at Ed Lynch Square. This new community gathering space creates a park-like setting that is inviting and welcoming for all, reconnecting the Academy to the community.

The impact of your gift will help us continue the work of preserving, stewarding, and activating this uniquely important place. Please donate to The Historic Trust today.

Providence Academy has endured for more than a century and a half, and it remains a vibrant community hub thanks to the support of community members just like you
