At the Northwest Association for Global Affairs (NWA), we believe the future of global leadership starts here, with students who are empowered to think critically, collaborate effectively, and advocate passionately for a better world.

NWA is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to educating and inspiring students across the Pacific Northwest through immersive programs like Model United Nations (MUN) conferences, leadership workshops, and global affairs initiatives. By simulating real-world diplomacy and fostering cross-cultural understanding, we equip students with the skills they need to engage meaningfully with the world’s most pressing challenges.

Each year, NWA hosts collegiate and high school Model UN conferences where students step into the role of delegates, negotiate solutions, and build a deeper understanding of international cooperation. For many, it’s more than an event, it’s a launching point for a lifetime of civic engagement, personal growth, leadership, and global awareness.

Our Story

The Northwest Association for Global Affairs (NWA) was founded by a small group of dedicated volunteers who believed in the power of education to build a better world. What began nearly two decades ago with a single Model United Nations conference has grown into a vibrant organization serving students across the Pacific Northwest.

Over the years, NWA has expanded its reach, hosting multiple collegiate Model UN conferences annually and, more recently, launching its first high school conference to inspire younger students. Through our programs, thousands of students have developed critical skills in diplomacy, leadership, and global citizenship, skills that they carry into their communities and careers.

Rooted in volunteerism, fueled by passion, and guided by a commitment to accessibility and excellence, NWA continues to grow as a space where the next generation of leaders can find their voice and shape the future.
