About Us
Helping kids find hope, peace, and freedom. If you are around teens at all you have undoubtedly seen that adolescents are struggling more than ever right now. Depression, anxiety, addiction, and loneliness are at an all-time high. Suicide is the second leading cause of death of 12- to 17-year-olds. If we could connect hurting teens to a positive, supportive community where they can find belonging, we could directly impact this growing trend. Rising Above Daily Youth Ranch is preparing to do just that through mentorship, equine therapy, ministry, and sports. In our work with teens for nearly 30 years we have seen, and research backs this up, that mentoring teens through athletics and character-building opportunities with animals, especially horses, makes a tremendous difference in the social, emotional, and mental health of adolescents. We envision the eight acres that we were just able to secure becoming a safe haven for youth in Southwest Washington. A place where they can find hope and wholeness. The sooner we can raise the necessary funding for running the ranch, the faster we can begin pairing kids with mentors and truly stand in the gap on behalf of these teens, many of whom are suffering in silence.
