Building Hope and Providing Human Dignity
We need your help during Give MORE 24! in September with a tax-deductible donation to support our rent, utility programs and our busy food pantry. We have a long history of providing financial help and hope for the vulnerable population and homeless that visit us. The greatest demand for Vancouver families is for these services. We are serving only a fraction of the need in our Vancouver community. The number of people seeking our assistance has grown rapidly each year because of need, economic changes, loss of jobs, increase in rents and other factors. No work of charity is foreign to the Society. We will continue to walk with our neighbors in their time of trouble.
The population we serve is ethnically diverse, including many who are often underserved in Clark County. Our objective is to help break the cycle of poverty, while working with other agencies, advocating for resources for more dignified and stable lives. In addition to this assistance, we operate an emergency food pantry and clothing corner. We serve thousands of people each month with nourishing food, an assortment of free clothing, hygiene items, and including diapers. We also provide other enhancements like sack lunches, holiday gift cards, laundry vouchers, and Christmas holiday boxes. Additionally, we provide emergency motel stays and other assistance to those in domestic distress.
Every morning at our Stapleton Road facility, a line of people in need weaves around our building, waiting for our doors to open. Cars line the road waiting their turn to pull into our small parking lot. The time has come to take the next step; we have an urgent need to relocate to a larger space along the 4th Plain corridor. We need the space and infrastructure to approach doubling the number of individuals and families that we serve daily. Can you help us help others?
Our Society is inspired by Catholic Christian values to serve all God's children. Please consider a financial gift to the Vancouver St. Vincent DePaul Society, so we can continue this good work of serving others with kindness and compassion, feeding many households and bringing encouragement and hope to the people we serve. Thank you and God bless you for your support.
