Second Chance Companions

Founded in 1993, Second Chance Companions is a 501(c)(3) non-profit pet organization dedicated to the care of abandoned cats and dogs in SW Washington and the Portland Metro area.   

We do not run a shelter and have dedicated volunteers who foster the animals until they are adopted. Our animals are spayed & neutered, receive microchips, and necessary testing & vaccinations. In addition, we educate the new owners on the humane care of their pets. 

Over the last 30 years, we have rescued thousands of animals and focus on prioritizing the humane care of the animals. 

Second Chance Companions is an all-volunteer organization and are always seeking volunteers and resources that help us to accomplish our mission.

Your donations go toward adoption events, animal health care, transport and more! Examples of procedure costs include:

$50 - $200 per animal - microchips & testing

$50 per month - litter and food

$50 - $100 per animal - rabies vaccinations, medications and testing

$100 - $250 - spay or neuter

$100 - $300 per animal for dental procedures
