Vancouver Youth Basketball

Vancouver Youth Basketball is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing kids in Vancouver, Washington with the opportunity to learn, grow, and play basketball in a supportive community environment.  We are committed to supporting the youth of Southwest Washington by providing quality basketball programs that develop both athletic skills and character.  

1,200 Vancouver youth have participated in our programs, but our goal is to increase the availability and accessibility of more programs and facilities in our community.  This fall, we are working to support local youth with more free clinics, regardless of financial circumstance or previous ability.  One day of free clinics serves 160+ kids, ages 6 - 15 years old.  Each day of free clinics requires +$4k in hard costs for the gym rental and coaching staff.  Our goal is to host 10 free clinics in the next 24 months, which is why we set our fundraising goal to be $50k. 

Our coaches are able to identify ability levels quickly.  They asses and then move kids into stations, drills, and courts that are best suited for their growth and enjoyment of the game.  Most of these coaches are former collegiate or semi professional basketball players looking to give back to their community.  We hire coaches intentionally to ensure that the highest quality, consistency, and opportunity for growth is available for all participants.
