YWCA - Support Youth Prevention Programming

The Prevention program at YWCA Clark County enters the local high schools and middle schools, working with our youth to understand violence and build healthy relationship skillsets, face-to-face. We need you help to expand our reach, connecting with youth as they define what healthy relationships mean to them.  

From a local session in middle school: “Send me your password or we’re done.”

That was the text one 15-year-old in Clark County got from her boyfriend. She thought it was normal. She thought that’s what love looked like.

Then she sat in a YWCA prevention workshop. For the first time, she heard that control is not love, that boundaries matter, and that she had the right to say no. She left class saying, “Now I know how to handle it — and I can help my friends too.”

This is what prevention does. It interrupts cycles of harm before they start. It gives teens the tools and practice they need to stay safe, speak up, and build healthy relationships.

But right now, we can only reach the classrooms we are funded for. Demand is higher than ever — and without support, too many students will go without this life-changing education.

That’s where you come in. During Give More 24, every dollar you give is doubled up to $20,000. Your $50 becomes $100. Your $250 becomes $500. Together, we can reach our $40,000 goal in just one day.

Prevention is urgent. Prevention is possible. And it starts with you.
