My Story.
I've been singing in choirs on and off throughout my life, starting with church choir at a young age. When I moved out to the Pacific NW, a lot of change happened in my life and I wasn't part of a choir anymore. My Dad encouraged me to come and sing in a couple different choirs in Vancouver, so I did. Those choirs gave me the connections that gave me Reprise Choir and the opportunity to become one of it's founding board members. I love the mission of the choir and it really does bring the joy of choral music to all ages.
I have had the distinct honor to sing in this choir AND sit on the board with my father. This group of singers has challenged me to step up each time we sing and I have formed some amazing bonds not only within the choir, but in the greater community because of it.
My Dad's Story.
As someone with an engineering background and not a music background, it gives me great pleasure to be able to sing with Reprise Choir. I started out late not singing until I was in my thirties with the Lake County Community College. I took multiple breaks until moving out to the Pacific Northwest where I have sung with multiple choirs in the Vancouver area, in addition to being a charter member of the Reprise Choir organization. It gives me great pleasure to be able to sing with the fine musicians in Reprise where many of them have music degrees and/or are music educators. And of course, singing my with my daughter as part of this journey.
Please consider donating to this choir so we can continue bringing an artistic, musical journey to our collaborative singers in schools around the area and to our audiences and help forge new stories in song.
