Our Story
For over two decades, Ke Kukui Foundation has carried a simple but powerful vision: to keep the Hawaiian culture thriving in the Pacific Northwest. What began as a single hula school founded by the late, Deva Yamashiro, has grown into a nonprofit that connects thousands each year through hula, music, language, cultural workshops, and our signature 4 Days of Aloha festival.
Our work is about more than classes or events — it is about identity, belonging, and cultural survival. In a region where Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities are far from home, KKF provides a place where culture is not only celebrated but passed on to the next generation.
But this work cannot continue without you. Each gift makes a difference:
It helps a child put on their pāʻū skirt and step into hula class for the first time.
It brings master teachers from Hawaiʻi to share knowledge that would otherwise be out of reach.
It creates safe, welcoming spaces where families can gather, learn, and strengthen community bonds.
Your donation to GIVE MORE 24 is more than charity — it is a commitment to the cultural heartbeat of our community. With your support, we can ensure that our keiki, our kūpuna, and generations to come will always have a place to dance, to sing, to speak, and to stand proudly in their heritage.
Together, we can keep the light of our culture burning brightly.
