Our oʻhana lives in Oregon and drives 45 minutes ONE WAY to take an hour hula class. 😂 That says it all on how meaningful it is to us.
I volunteer to teach a Keiki class every Sunday. My other hula sisters and brother also volunteer to teach. That’s how this hula halau stays alive so far. In addition, we have our Ke Kukui Foundation 501c3 that puts on the 4 Days of Aloha in July and other community events.
So our halau and foundation relies on grants, sponsorships and donations to keep all of it alive.
