Earlier this year, I found myself missing something that had once brought me so much joy: hula. So, I decided it was time to return and joined Kaleinani O Ke Kukui.
I chose this hālau because I was inspired by the incredible work Ke Kukui Foundation has done to preserve and share Hawaiian culture here in the Pacific Northwest.
One of the biggest examples of that work is 4 Days of Aloha, which has brought Hawaiian culture, practitioners, music, dance, and traditions to the Pacific Northwest for 24 years and next year marks its 25th anniversary!
Being part of this hālau has given me the opportunity to reconnect with hula while also becoming part of a community committed to ensuring Hawaiian culture continues to be learned, practiced, and passed on to future generations.
Every donation, no matter the amount, helps support its cultural programs, events, and the practitioners who keep these traditions alive.
